Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera)

7 Night Tour

Day 1

Arrive at Palma de Mallorca. Transfer to Port de Soller in the North of the beautiful island of Mallorca. Your ship the ‘Atlantis’ will be ready for boarding at 6pm but if you are arriving earlier, you will be able to leave your bags onboard and wonder along the bay of Port de Soller or take the historic tram into the town centre. Enjoy the local speciality of orange juice from the Soller Valley in the Placa de Constitucio before your welcome dinner and briefing.

Day 2

Soller, Valdemossa to Port d’Andratx 19 miles (30km). The first ride of the adventure follows a winding coastal road with stunning sea views through the artistic village of Deia to Valdemossa, a small pretty town in the hills of the Tramuntana range. There is plenty of time for lunch and to explore the narrow streets and lanes as well as the Carthusian monastery. Then your ride descends back to your ship, where you set sail for Port d’Andratx cruising along the impressive coastline to the charming harbour and fishing village.

Day 3

Port d’Andratx to Sant Elm Round Trip: 24 miles (38km). Today you will cycle along the coast to the resort of Peguera and then along country roads to Andratx, a town which has preserved its traditional charms and is surrounded by orange groves and almond trees. Moving on, the ride takes you to the quiet resort of Sant Elm, where the afternoon is yours to swim at the beach or explore the town. Then it’s back to Port d’Andratx for a relaxing dinner onboard.

Day 4

Mallorca to Ibiza: Sailing Day. There is a rest from cycling today as your ship sets sail for the island of Ibiza in the morning. There is plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast, relaxing onboard or you can help the crew out with sailing the ship after a briefing from the helmsman. Once you reach Ibiza, the ship will dock in the bay of Benirras on the rugged North Coast of the island with time for a refreshing dip.

Day 5

Benirras to Es Canar and Formentera: 19 miles (30km). Back on your bike, the tour leads you through a wooded mountainous stretch to the beautiful beach of Sant Vincente where there is time for a swim and a coffee. Continuing along the coastline and then through the centre of the island, you’ll stop for lunch in the laid-back village of Sant Carlos before cycling on to Es Canar where you will meet the ship again. The ship will sail to the smallest of the inhabited Balearic Islands, Formentera, where you will be able to enjoy watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand in the bay of Es Calo.

Day 6

Es Calo to La Savina and Ibiza 22 miles (35km). From Es Calo your cycle ride will explore the 20kms long island of Formentera, starting with a visit to ‘La Mola’ lighthouse, described by Jules Vernes in his book and where it is said that you can see all the way to Africa. The route will also take you through fields of wheat and wild flowers to the island’s capital, Sant Franesc with its whitewashed buildings and sunny plazas overlooked by cafes. You’ll head to the North of the island and meet the Atlantis again, which will then travel back to Ibiza, where it will dock for the night at Cala d’Hort.

Day 7

Cala d’Hort to Sa Caleta and Ibiza Town: 16 miles (25km). The final ride of the holiday takes you up to the spectacular cliffs above Cala d’Hort to Sa Caleta past fennel lined streets, vineyards and white washed fincas. After a swim and an enjoyable lunch, the ship will sail to Ibiza Town where you will go on a sightseeing tour of the UNESCO protected old town. Then it is time for farewell dinner in the harbour of Ibiza Town.

Day 8

We say “Adios” before transferring you to Ibiza Airport.

Please note that the cruise takes place on a tall ship and therefore good balance and surefootedness are required as well as the ability to manage larger steps.
