Day 1

Arrival in Split.

You start your tour in the stunning city of Split. It is the second largest city in Croatia, with approximately 200,000 inhabitants, and is the largest city on the Adriatic coast.

Meals included: none

Day 2

From Split to Hvar | Distance 16 miles (26km).

Split's historic heart is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of Diocletian, which dates back to the early years of the 4th century AD. After spending the morning exploring this beautiful town you will head for the port and board the ferry to Stari Grad on the beautiful island of Hvar. It’s a two hour crossing so you’ll have time to enjoy an afternoon cycle to the picturesque harbour town of Jelsa. If time allows, we will indulge (optional) in a wine tasting at one of the most famous wineries on the island, Tomic wines, famed for its elegant red wine and sumptuous Prosek - a local delight. On the return journey we pedal along the scenic coastal road and through the UNESCO protected Stari Grad Plain.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 3

Round Trip Hvar | Distance 25 miles (40 km).

We have a full day to explore beautiful Hvar island by bike. Initially there is quite a lengthy ascent through lavender fields up to the highest point of the island. The enjoyable descent is through the village of Brusje and on to the charming Venetian town of Hvar for lunch. In the afternoon you will ride an unpaved road through the abandoned villages of Velo Grabjle and Malo Grabjle, encountering a few steep climbs and the most beautiful scenery.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 4

From Hvar to Korcula | Distance 6 miles (10 km).

We board a catamaran and head for the historical and fertile island of Korcula, famed for its quality wine and timeless traditions. The old Venetian town of Korcula is a photographer's dream with a gorgeous blend of red terracotta roofs, stone cathedrals and marble streets,. From here you will take a leisurely cycle along the coast to Lombarda, your home for the next two nights. Lombarda is famed for its beautiful sandy beaches, dramatic coastal views and vineyards. There will be plenty of time for a swim and wine tasting at a local winery.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 5

Round Tour Korcula | Distance 44 miles (70 km) | Elevation +260m / -260m.

A full day's cycling tour of the island will allow you to experience the elegance of rural Korcula. As you slowly make your way across the island to the small town of Cara, one of the oldest settlements on the island. You will then head downhill to the pretty coastal village of Zavalatica, where the old traditions of fishing and farming are still celebrated. Here you will swim, enjoy lunch and take in the spectacular views of the crystal clear Adriatic Sea; on a clear day one can hope to see Italy's Monte Gargano. After lunch you will cycle through the fertile landscape to Smokvica, a small village nestled amongst the hills in the centre of the island. Surrounded by vineyards, the village is home to one of Croatia's best-known wines, Pošip, as well as the impressive Neo-Romanesque church of The Purification of Our Lady. On the return journey you will cycle past the terracotta roofs of Pupnat, the smallest village on the island before joining the road which takes us back to Lumbarda.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 6

From Korcula to Dubrovnik | Distance 19 miles (30km).

On the sixth day, you will depart Lumbarda after breakfast by bike for a short ride to Korcula harbour. You will cross over to the Dalmatian mainland, to the thin, finger like strip of the Peljesac Peninsula and then you will start cycling in Postup. A route along the coast allows you to cycle through a landscape blanketed in rich vineyards of Plavac Mali grapes - a local speciality. An hour drive takes you to the hills that rise above Dubrovnik and to the top of Mount Srd where you will have the pleasure of seeing the old city walls for the first time as we visit the Imperial fort. The fort is now a fascinating photographic war museum (optional visit) which provides a vivid account of the war.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 7

Round Tour Dubrovnik | Distance 25 miles (40km).

On the last day, you will have the option for a final ride or to relax in Dubrovnik. If you chose to cycle, the route takes you through the beautiful Dalmatian countryside, heading out towards Cavtat. We’ll stop for a drinks break on the banks of the river Ljuta, before making our way through the valley to Cavtat where you will finish the last ride and have lunch. Returning to Dubrovnik, the afternoon is then free to enjoy the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. The old medieval town of Dubrovnik retains a unique atmosphere and charm, with its wealth of monasteries, museums and medieval buildings. A walk around the entire circumference of the city walls offers some great views out over the rooftops and alleyways of the old city and the tranquil waters of the Adriatic.
