Families, couples, friends, solo travellers… anyone who’s relatively healthy, fit and loves to peddle or potter. Whether you simply want to enjoy some easy riding with your children, or a quicker pace with your oldest friends, the route will cater for it.
Forget tight schedules and daily distance targets - we’ve designed our tours to let you explore at your own pace. As well as beautiful, diverse scenery, each of our destinations has been chosen for its other delights, including quaint villages, historical monuments, sports activities and, of course, delicious food and drink. And because we take care of all the details - from arranging flights, hotels and transfers, to providing suggested route maps and transporting your luggage from hotel to hotel - you can travel easy, with nothing weighing you (or your bike) down.
We’ve explored far and wide to find the nicest places to stay on each tour. Most hotels and guesthouses are small and family-run, handpicked for their character, comfort and friendly welcome. All rooms have private bathrooms.
The best thing about all that lovely exercise? It’s a great excuse to enjoy fabulous local cuisine every day - and there’s a huge amount of it across Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Croatia. Whether it’s cherry strudel in Austria, chargrilled sardines in Istria, or sauerkraut and sausages in Bavaria, dining out is treat wherever you are. Or if you’re picnicking in a meadow somewhere instead, even the deli selection in the local village shop is enough to make your mouth water. And did we mention the Tuscan wine and German Weissbier?
The route, and all it has to offer, is the most important thing. We don’t think travel logistics and flight times should determine your holiday - which is why you’ll start the route in one spot and end it somewhere completely different - after all, who wants to go round in a circle? With our staff on hand throughout your holiday to transfer your luggage by mini-bus from hotel to hotel, it’s easy all the way. For those on cycling holidays, our bicycles come equipped with a rack and pannier bag, for anything you may need during the day. We recommend that walkers bring a small daypack.
