The crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic sea surround you on this sun-filled Bike & Boat venture across Istria, with historical cities and fishing harbours, gorgeous beaches and coastal paths to explore.
This tour is operated by our preferred local partner.
Arrive at Pula or Trieste. Transfer to Pula, where you’ll board your boat and be equipped with your bicycle. In the afternoon enjoy a cycle around Pula 9 miles (15kms). We suggest visiting some of the Roman remains and the famous Amphitheatre in the heart of the city, which dominates the streetscape and doubles as a venue for summer concerts and festivals. After your cycle, you will cruise on the boat to a nearby bay for the night.
Vrsar to Poreč: 22 miles (35km). After an early morning scenic morning cruise to Vrsar, you will cycle along the Limski canal to Klostar. After a relaxing lunch, the route heads to the ancient Roman town of Poreč, where you can take a guided walk through this historical coastal town, stopping at the famous Euphrasian Basilica, with its stunning early Christian mosaics and explore the bustling shops.
Poreč to Višnjan, then Umag: 31 miles (50km). Today we cycle through beautiful vineyards to Višnjan, home of the famous white Boskarin-Cattle. After a coffee stop you will head through the gentle hills to Vizinada. Cycling back to Porec, you will stop at the Baredine Cave, descending 60 metres underground to an incredible subsurface lake. Back on board the boat, you will then cruise to the attractive old town of Umag.
Umag to Grožnjan, then Novigrad: 34 miles (55 km). After breakfast, today’s cycle heads north along the coast, ascending to the artist’s village of Grožnjan. After a relaxing break in Groznjan, you will continue onto Novigrad, passing the river valley of Mirna (look out for white truffles). There’s plenty to see and do in this impressive city, and lots of lovely cafés and bars to sample on the pretty harbour before boarding the boat for dinner.
Novigrad to Poreč then Rovinj: 16 miles (25km). Today we cycle back along the glittering coast to Poreč, where there’s plenty of time to peruse the town once more before boarding the boat towards Rovinj for the night.
Rovinj: 12 miles (20 km). In the morning, you will have time for a refreshing dip before a relaxing cycle around Rovinj, an Adriatic gem surrounded by wooded hills. It’s pretty fishing harbour leads to a tapestry of steep, cobbled streets and piazzas where you’ll find wonderful places to eat and drink.
Rovinj to Fažana to Barbariga, Vodnjan then Pula: 22 miles (35km). The boat will cross to Barbariga where you will hop back on your bike and cycle via the tiny, authentic village of Vodnjan back to Pula. This afternoon you’ll have plenty of time to take another walk through the town, visiting the many heritage sites the city has to offer. Alternatively, there are beautiful beaches dotted with fragrant pine trees and seaside cafes a short journey away, perfect for a final restful afternoon in the Croatian sun before a celebrative evening meal.
We say “Zbogom” before transferring you direct to Pula by minibus.
